Patna — Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav has strongly criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over what he called a "feudal and discriminatory mindset," following the controversy around Samajwadi Party MP Ramji Lal Suman. A saint from Mathura recently declared that Suman would not be allowed to enter temples after his remarks on Rana Sanga sparked protests and backlash.

Condemning the statement, Yadav said, “The mindset to discriminate, the feudal mindset, under which BJP promotes people who think that they are privileged by birth — such people should be socially boycotted.”

He further pointed out past instances, claiming that caste-based discrimination continues to plague religious and political practices. “Be it the CM or the President or the PM — whenever they have visited any temple, the temples are washed after their visit. When Akhilesh Yadav vacated the house, it was purified. There is a need to purify the minds.”

Yadav emphasized the importance of social justice, declaring, “People sitting in temples feel that they are superior by birth. In the coming times, we will ensure backward and Dalit communities have equal place in temples.”

Accusing the BJP of weaponizing religion for politics, Yadav asked, “Are Dalits and backward castes not Hindus? BJP nurses such people who thrive on exclusion.”

He also took a direct jab at Union Home Minister Amit Shah, claiming, “Amit Shah got furious listening to the name of BR Ambedkar in Parliament. He has not apologised till now. He should at least do it today.”
