Hyderabad, Telangana – Telangana Congress President Bomma Mahesh Kumar Goud recently announced the state’s plans to complete a comprehensive caste survey, positioning Telangana as a model for other states across India. Goud highlighted that the survey is a key priority and will be concluded swiftly to offer valuable demographic insights aimed at enhancing policy effectiveness in Telangana. He shared that this initiative aligns with Rahul Gandhi’s call for a nationwide caste survey, aiming to facilitate more targeted and inclusive policies.
“Rahul ji wants this survey done across the country, and Telangana is taking the lead to make that vision a reality,” said Goud. He elaborated that this survey is part of a broader Congress agenda aimed at addressing long-standing social disparities, improving access to opportunities, and empowering historically marginalized communities.
In addition to the caste survey, Goud affirmed the Congress party’s dedication to implementing its promises in the state, which include the "six guarantees" announced during recent campaigns. The guarantees aim to address pressing issues ranging from health, education, and employment to rural development. Goud emphasized that the Congress-led government in Telangana will take practical measures to bring these promises to fruition, thereby setting a benchmark for transparency and accountability in governance.
The Congress leader’s commitment underscores the party’s intention to create a more inclusive Telangana, where welfare policies reach all sections of society. The proposed caste survey, once completed, is expected to provide crucial data that will inform future policy initiatives both within Telangana and potentially across India, should similar surveys be adopted in other states.
