By A Staff Reporter: Addressing the ongoing controversy regarding the alleged contamination of Tirupati Prasadam, TDP MLC G. Deepak Reddy highlighted serious lapses by the previous YCP government in handling ghee supplies to the temple. He recalled a statement made by the Karnataka Milk Federation head 4-5 years ago, which warned about the dangers of accepting low-cost ghee. According to Reddy, the YCP government ignored this warning and relied on middlemen to supply 15,000 kgs of ghee daily.
He criticized the previous administration for failing to ensure quality, stating that middlemen, who do not own dairies, would have sourced the ghee from the market, leading to potential contamination. Reddy added that the sanctity of the temple is at stake, and Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has ordered a thorough investigation into the matter. The report is expected soon, and those responsible will face strict consequences.
