TMC MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay Criticizes Finance Minister's Budget Focus

Delhi: TMC MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay has voiced concerns regarding the allocation of funds for the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) and the Awas Yojana. He criticized Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for focusing primarily on project allocations without detailing state-wise fund distributions.

"We are deeply concerned about the funding for MGNREGA and the Awas Yojana. Abhishek Banerjee had requested a white paper on these issues, but the Finance Minister passed over these concerns and concentrated on project funding," Bandyopadhyay stated. He added that the lack of transparency in fund allocation led to the TMC’s decision to protest and walk out of the session
