Mumbai, Maharashtra: Mike Hankey, the Consul General at the US Consulate General in Mumbai, paid tribute to Ratan Tata, highlighting his extraordinary influence across various fields. Speaking at an event, Hankey remarked, "As a representative of the US government, I have come here. Just looking at the connections Ratan Tata had as a person, as a human, as a leader in economics and society and philanthropy, you can see the outsized impact that he had."
Hankey noted Tata’s strong ties to leading US institutions, particularly in the field of education. "From education, his connections to leading US universities like Cornell University and the University of Southern California were profound," he said, emphasizing the global reach of Tata's influence.
Recalling a personal meeting with Tata, Hankey expressed admiration for his vision and insights on technology. "The ability to inspire across generations comes along very rarely.
