BY A STAFF REPORTER: Bangladesh rolled into a civil war as protestors took over Gana Bhaban, the official residence of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Sansad Bhaban after protesters stormed the streets and marched to Dhaka from all over the country.
Lakhs of students and local residents of Bangladesh entered the Prime Minister's residence and looted materials. They also entered Sansad Bhaban, the country's Parliament, and vandalised the entire building. Sheikh Hasina and her sister Sheikh Rehana fled in a military helicopter to another country, moments before protesters reached Dhaka. The Bangladesh army chief, Waquar uz Zaman took responsibility for bringing peace and promised a caretaker government and restore normalcy within days.
