China celebrates the 75th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence

As part of the 75th anniversary celebration, the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Croatia/Europe organized a reception for local and foreign high-ranking officials. I used the opportunity to have a short conversation with the ambassador, H.E. Mr. Qi Qianjin.

The world is going through major changes - climate disturbances, terrorism, wars, recession, the fourth industrial revolution... How does China as a world power adapt to these changes and what is the global role of the People's Republic of China?
Currently, changes in the world, time and history are taking place in an unprecedented way. Great changes unseen in a century are accelerating, a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation is developing at a high speed, and human society is facing multiple challenges. Faced with the current international situation, we are worried but confident. As President Xi Jinping pointed out, the general direction of the development and progress of human society will not change, the general logic of the winding progress of world history will not change, and the general trend of the common future of the international community will not change either. China will always be a builder of world peace, a contributor to global development and a defender of the international order. President Xi Jinping put forward the important concept of building a community with a shared future for mankind, the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative, embodying the international values of Chinese diplomacy and advocating an equal and orderly world with multipolarization and universally beneficial and inclusive economic globalization.

These Chinese concepts try to provide answers to world challenges. We emphasize that we will unswervingly follow the path of peaceful development and never oppose our neighbors or mistreat the small ones, we will continue to connect the "circle of friends" around the world and follow an open strategy of mutual benefit and gain, we will focus on building a community with a common future for mankind, to promote the development of the global governance system in a fairer and more reasonable direction and to work with people from all countries to create a better future for humanity.
