"What has happened is completely unacceptable and the government strongly condemns this attack," Foreign Minister Tobias Bilstrom said in a statement. Iraqi authorities have an unambiguous obligation to protect diplomatic missions and personnel under the Vienna Convention. "
Police used water cannons to disperse protesters from the embassy.
