BY A STAFF REPORTER: Hamas launched a "major missile attack" in Ashkelon in southern Israel. Hamas said it carried out a "major missile attack with 100 rockets" in Ashkelon in southern Israel.
The Izzedin al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of the Palestinian militant group, said rockets were fired into the coastal town in response to israeli defense forces attacking their "safe homes."
Israeli police said Hamas rocket fire targeted Ashkelon on Sunday. An apartment building caught fire after being hit by a rocket. An eight-year-old boy was seriously injured in the incident and has been hospitalized.'
