IDF says dozens of hamas terrorists killed in gaza

BY A STAFF REPORTER: Israel's defense forces say some activists have been killed in clashes between ground forces and tanks from Hamas terrorist cells in the northern Gaza Strip.

In a statement, the IDF said soldiers from the Golan Heights Brigades had led a long battle against Hamas militants who fired missiles, installed explosive devices and threw grenades at forces.

The military said the Golan troops retaliated with artillery and tank fire and called for navy air strikes and missile strikes.

"Some terrorists were killed at the end of the fighting," the IDF said. Soldiers from the Nahal Infantry Brigade confronted a group of Hamas gunmen who opened fire on them.
