The 17th India-Israel Foreign Office Consultations took place in New Delhi on August 28, 2024, where both countries engaged in detailed discussions on various bilateral interests and reviewed the full scope of their strategic partnership. The meeting underscored the strong ties between the two nations, covering a wide range of issues, including the prevailing situations in West Asia and the Indo-Pacific region.

During the consultations, the Indian Foreign Secretary reiterated India’s firm condemnation of the terror attacks on Israel that occurred on October 7, calling for the unconditional and immediate release of all hostages. The Foreign Secretary also emphasized the importance of a ceasefire, continued humanitarian assistance, and adherence to international humanitarian law.

Expressing concerns over the escalating tensions in West Asia, the Indian side highlighted the need for restraint, dialogue, and diplomacy to address the ongoing conflict and foster regional stability.
