On the first anniversary of the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel, Israeli Ambassador to India, Reuven Azar, reflected on the tragic event and emphasized Israel's determination to dismantle the Hamas threat. "It shocked us but made us determined to neutralise the Hamas threat. Israel's society raised to the cause. We are fighting the terrorists and I am sure we will prevail," Azar said.

The attack left Israel shaken, but the nation united in response. Ambassador Azar highlighted the collective resilience of Israeli society and its commitment to confronting Hamas, an organization recognized as a terrorist group by many countries.

Azar also addressed the ongoing hostage crisis, providing updates: "We have managed to recover 150 hostages and 101 hostages are still with Hamas." Efforts to negotiate their release have been unsuccessful, with Azar noting, "Unfortunately, Hamas refused to do it. We cannot surrender to the terrorists."
