BY A STAFF REPORTER: The country's health ministry said one civilian was killed and another seriously injured in an Israeli bombing in Jenin.

The Israeli military said its forces had attacked a "joint operations center" that it claims serves as a command center for the local militant group Jenin Brigades.

The northern West Bank city of Jenin and its surrounding refugee camps are the site of regular clashes between Israeli forces and Palestinian militants.

The Israeli military conducts regular operations in areas controlled by President Mahmoud Abbas's Palestinian Authority.
