New Zealand hostel fire: Accused arrested

BY A STAFF REPORTER: A man has been arrested and charged with two counts of arson in connection with the Wellington hostel fire in New Zealand, police said.

Police said an investigation is underway and they may file a more serious complaint regarding the death at the scene. Police had earlier said they had launched an investigation into the murder. Police Inspector Dion Bennett said on Thursday that the suspect, who has not immediately been named, is due to appear in Wellington District Court on Friday.
