Indian PM Narendra Modi and Saudi crown prince Mr. Salman had a telephonic conversation in which they discussed a number of bilateral, multilateral and global issues. Mr. Modi extended thanks to Saudi for helping Indians evacuate from Sudan via Jeddah. India had launched operation kaveri to evacuate the nationals from war torn Sudan, who all were struck in Khartoum and in distant provinces like Darfur. It involved INS Sumedha, patrol vessel, two Indian Air Force C130J special operations aircrafts in Jeddah. PM Modi also extended his wish for Hajj pilgrimage. In return, Mr. Salman also supported India's G20 presidency which is an informal grouping of 19 countries, EU, representatives of the IMF and WB. It rotates annually, maintaining regional balance. The release added the two leaders wanted to be in touch.
