Timor-Leste: President Droupadi Murmu commended Timor-Leste for its significant democratic progress, noting its status as one of the most vibrant democracies in Southeast Asia.

Speaking about the nation's journey, President Murmu said, "Today Timor-Leste is carving out its own destiny. It is considered one of the most vibrant democracies in Southeast Asia, and this is the testimony of courage, resilience, and bravery of the Timorese people." She highlighted India's role as one of the earliest countries to recognize Timor-Leste’s independence in 2002. "In these 22 years, Timor-Leste has stood out as a shining beacon of democracy and pluralism," Murmu added, celebrating the nation's democratic achievements.
