BY A STAFF REPORTER: On Saturday, the regional governor said two people had been wounded in heavy Ukrainian shelling in the Russian border region of Belgorod.
Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said Ukraine had fired more than 100 artillery shells into its territory in the past day, including the districts of Belgorodsky, Borisovsky, Valuaisky, Krasnoyaruzsky and Shebekinsky.
"Power lines were damaged in the Krasnoyarovsky urban district. In the Shebekinsky district, the trade area of the local market, a storage of a vegetable warehouse, three garages were damaged. Gladkov said a private house, a local shop and a car were also damaged in the district, and a car caught fire and burned to the ground. '
Ukraine has not yet commented on the shelling in Belgorod.
