BY A STAFF REPORTER: Air and rail traffic was severely disrupted in the Netherlands on Wednesday morning due to heavy winds. Authorities urged people to stay home.

About 300 flights were canceled at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport, one of Europe's busiest hubs. Train operator NS has suspended all train traffic north of the Netherlands.
