Two attacks kill around 40 in Burkina Faso

BY A STAFF REPORTER: About 40 people, including volunteers from the Civil Defense Militia, have been killed in two attacks by jihadist rebels in western Burkina Faso.

The regional government said at least 20 people were killed when an attack targeted an armed convoy in the Borasso area near the border with Mali. Security sources and local residents said about 20 people were killed in another attack in the same area.
