With Ina for coffee: Meeting and talking with Ravi Bengani

By Ina Stašević, Croatia/Europe: Yesterday evening I met with the President of the Bowling Association of India, Mr. Ravi Bengani in Zagreb/Croatia.

Ravi Bengani is the president of the Bowling Association of India, a businessman and hotelier who owns a very representative small hotel in Split, a city founded by the Roman emperor Diocletian at the end of the 3rd century, and who is a native of that region. 

As India today is on the way to stronger integration with the world in all segments, Ravi Bengani is also trying hard here to strengthen the cooperation between India and Croatia, to increase the exchange of tourists, to make exchanges in compatible companies. 

Currently, 12,500 Indians live and work in Croatia, and their integration has become a strategic state policy. Bengani, who has been spending time here for the last eight years and in accordance with his obligations in India, has integrated very well, so he and his family enjoy great respect. Ravi says that he feels at home in Split just like I do when I visit Calcutta.

The Olympic Games, the biggest sporting event in the world, held in Paris this year, are behind us, so I asked Ravi; How does he evaluate the organization of the games in Paris and what was the success of the Indian athletes at the Olympics? 

Summer Olympics Paris 2024 recently concluded in Paris on August 12th after a lot of exciting and exhilarating performances by most of the athletes from every nook and corner of the world who were very proudly representing their respective countries in this showpiece of an event designed to showcase their ultimate talent globally.

Must give total kudos to the French government and the French people for organising such a marvel of an event so flawlessly and diligently.. Right from the Opening ceremony, everybody worked in total sync and planning to ensure the success of this great Olympic Games 2024 being held in the European Union after 20 years.

This was the first Olympics after a hiatus of many decades which was held mostly within the city centre. Even though quite a few temporary venues were set up to host the Olympic events inside them, but the kind of thinking and planning which must have had gone behind the execution, was amazing. Nothing was left to chance and almost all the minutest details were being adhered to during the Games.. Something as small as road crossing by the spectators OR something more serious like security inside and outside the venues and stadiums were all looked after minutely with a magnifying glass and nothing was left to chance.

Public transportation needs a special mention as all the forms of transportation was fully functioning throughout and nobody had any issues with the same even in a city like Paris which always has a history for these impromptu strikes.

The amazing, well designed and spread out athlete village or the Fan Base where a lot of the countries had their respective Pavilions was an example of this marvellous planning which went behind in organising the Olympic 2024.
