BY A STAFF REPORTER: The famous Kolkata’s flower market on banks of river Ganges will have to be relocated to pave way for the railways to construct a bridge. According to Chief Administrative Officer (construction) Rajeev Srivastava, the Koilaghat bridge has developed wear and tear at various places and become unsafe. Speaking exclusively with ANM News, Srivastava said load bearing capacity of the Koilaghat bridge has also suffered and the structure has become untenable. “We are preparing the design and technicalities. It will take fifteen days for us to complete our planning and design. We will initiate discussion with state government and local police to clear the flower market area as we need to construct pillars and start work,” Srivastava said.
