BY A STAFF REPORTER: The security infrastructure at RG Kar Hospital is showing signs of improvement and coordination between the state government agencies and CISF is in place, according to senior officers of the central agency. Speaking on condition of anonymity, a senior officer overseeing affairs at the RG Kar Hospital mentioned to ANM News that work is in full swing to put in place the basic security infrastructure that they had initially discussed with state government agencies. ``The entire hospital will be combed with CCTV cameras and there will be an integrated control room to monitor the cameras. We are also installing body cameras and security guards at strategic places. Parameter walls and certain other essential construction work are also being done to enhance security,'' he said. According to sources there has been a series of meetings between health department officials, CISF officials and Kolkata police over the past few days. ``The security situation at RG Kar Hospital is better and systematic at present. The doctors are back in work and normalcy in most departments have more or less been restored,'' he added.

Incidentally junior doctors had called off their strike after a marathon meeting with chief minister Mamata Banerjee, chief secretary Manoj Pant and other senior health department officials but claimed that they will continue to agitate till all their demands are met. Ironically, patients and their relatives at RG kar Hospital voiced their concern at the behaviour and attitude of the nurses and junior doctors claiming that they have become ``arrogant and high handed.''
