49.68% Voter Turnout Recorded Till 3 PM, Jharkhand Leads

Jharkhand recorded the highest voter turnout with 60.14%. Moreover, West Bengal recorded 58.46% and Himachal Pradesh recorded 58.41%. Bihar recorded the lowest voter turnout with 42.95%.

BY A STAFF REPORTER: Amid the last phase of the Lok Sabha elections, 49.68% voter turnout was recorded in 57 constituencies on June 1, Saturday.

Jharkhand recorded the highest voter turnout with 60.14%. Moreover, West Bengal recorded 58.46% and Himachal Pradesh recorded 58.41%. Bihar recorded the lowest voter turnout with 42.95%.

The final and the seventh phase of the general elections to the 18th Lok Sabha is being conducted in 57 Lok Sabha Constituencies across eight states and one Union Territory.

Key constituencies include Varanasi, where PM Modi will be contesting, Mandi where BJP Candidate Kangana Ranaut will contest her first elections, and Diamond Harbour where Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee's nephew Abhishek Banerjee will contest for TMC. The results will be declared on June 4.
