Significance of May Day

International Workers' Day or May Day is celebrated on May 1 every year. Not only in our country, but in many countries of the world, there is a national holiday on this day. This is a day for the rights of the working people.

BY A STAFF REPORTER:  International Workers' Day or May Day is celebrated on May 1 every year. Not only in our country, but in many countries of the world, there is a national holiday on this day. This is a day for the rights of the working people. Know the significance of May Day - 

1)In the United States, May 1 is a national holiday every year. In many countries, including India, this day is a national holiday. 

2)May Day was first celebrated in Chennai on May 1 or May 1, 1923, by the Labour Kisan Party of Hindustan. The entrepreneur was Singara Velu Chettiar, a strong leader of the party. According to his management, Workers' Day was celebrated in two different places in madras at that time.

3) Since 1948, may 1 has been a compulsory holiday in India to give dignity to workers from all over the world.

4) On this day, workers of every department of the country are honored. Their contributions were acknowledged.
