15 people killed after girder launching machine collapses in Thane

BY A STAFF REPORTER: At least 14 people were killed and three others injured when a girder launching machine collapsed near Shahpur in Maharashtra's Thane. The machine was reportedly being used for the construction of the third phase of the Samriddhi Express Highway. 

According to sources, two teams of NDRF have been deployed at the spot for rescue operations. So far, 14 bodies have been recovered and three people have been injured. Six more people are feared trapped inside the collapsed building. 

A total of 15 bodies have been recovered so far and three have been injured, the NDRF said.
