He said on Twitter, 'Mamata Banerjee has always defended the corrupt and criminals in her party, till the time it is convenient. Thereafter she discards them with vengeance. Partha Chaterjee, Anubroto Mondal, Jyotipriya Mallick, Manik Bhattacharya, Jiban Krishna Saha… the list is endless. All of them are in jail. Several others are either out on bail or under investigation, including her nephew. So, her support for Cash for Query fame Mahua Moitra is hardly a surprise. But the scam will shore up her ‘popularity’ reflects Mamata Banerjee’s own insecurities as a leader, whose political fortunes are on a decline.
