BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla criticized the Congress party, alleging they celebrated India's defeat in cricket matches as a means of opposing Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Poonawalla pointed out instances where Congress purportedly expressed hopes for India's loss during key matches, including the T20 World Cup.

"Two days ago, when the Indian Cricket Team lost to Zimbabwe, Congress tried to celebrate that defeat," stated Poonawalla. He emphasized the contrast with India's recent victory over Zimbabwe by 100 runs, questioning whether Congress would apologize to the team.

"They need to stop going against the country in the process of opposing PM Modi," Poonawalla concluded, highlighting the political controversy surrounding sports sentiments and national pride.
