New Delhi: , in her budget speech, announced a groundbreaking financial assistance scheme for women in the capital. Under the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana, eligible women will receive ₹2500 per month, with the government allocating ₹5100 crore for its implementation.
This initiative fulfills the BJP’s election promise of providing direct financial support to women, aiming to boost their economic independence. Addressing the Delhi Assembly, CM Gupta emphasized that the scheme would empower women from lower-income backgrounds, helping them meet essential needs and achieve financial stability.
“The economic progress of women is directly linked to the development of society. This scheme will ensure greater financial security for them,” said the CM.
The announcement has sparked political debate, with opposition parties questioning the feasibility of the fund allocation. However, BJP leaders hailed it as a transformative step toward women’s welfare. The Delhi government is expected to roll out the scheme in the coming months, with registration details to be announced soon.
