Delhi: On the 25th anniversary of the Kargil War, Retired Brigadier Kushal Thakur, who was the commanding officer during the conflict, shared his reflections on the sacrifices made.
"Having been a commanding officer, I carry many bittersweet memories of that time," Thakur remarked. "It is essential to sacrifice certain things for the country, and we lost 34 brave jawans. Their memory will remain with me forever. The families of these soldiers also made tremendous sacrifices, and it is heartening to see them smiling again after 25 years, having overcome their profound sadness."
