Although initial investigations revealed that there was an ``error with the signalling system'' but the big question is how it can happen? The driver of the locomotive of Coromandel Express had clearly mentioned to railway officers that the signal was green. The train was channelised from the main line to a loop line where a train was stationed.

Does it imply that there was a human error in inserting data into the automatic signalling system ? Did anyone tamper with the highly sophisticated signalling system? Did it malfunction and if it did then how and why no one noticed it? The commissioner of railway safety is probing the incident and will submit a report. ANM News sources indicated that CBI has been directed from the top echelons of the union government to finish ``probe as quickly as possible and fix responsibility.''
