New Delhi: Delhi BJP leaders and workers staged a protest against the AAP-led Delhi government over the worsening air pollution in the capital. The protest highlighted the city's deteriorating air quality, with BJP leaders accusing the Arvind Kejriwal government of failing to take adequate action to address the crisis.
Delhi BJP President Virendraa Sachdeva, addressing the gathering, issued a stark warning to the people of Delhi. "I want to alert the people of Delhi. This mask is a warning of the times to come. If Arvind Kejriwal's government is not removed, every Delhiite will have to wear this mask," he said, referring to the deteriorating air quality.
Sachdeva acknowledged the infrastructural contributions of the central government, stating, "If the Dwarka Expressway, Pragati Maidan tunnel, and the network of roads built by Narendra Modi's government were not there, the condition of Delhi would have been even worse."
He criticized the AAP government for relying on advertisements and publicity campaigns instead of concrete action. "Pollution will not stop with advertisements and publicity. To stop pollution, one will have to work 24 hours a day," he emphasized, urging a more proactive approach to combating pollution.
The protest underlines the growing concerns over air quality in Delhi, which has been consistently among the worst in the world. As political blame games continue, residents of the capital await tangible measures to address this pressing issue.
