Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh – In a breathtaking display of precision and devotion, the ‘Surya Tilak’ ceremony took place at the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple on Ram Navami, as a single beam of sunlight touched the forehead of Ram Lalla at exactly 12 noon, forming a radiant celestial tilak.

The phenomenon, which has been made possible through intricate scientific planning and architectural design, marks a historic and divine moment for devotees. The Surya Tilak symbolizes the cosmic blessing of Lord Surya (the Sun God) on Lord Ram, who is believed to have been born at this exact hour according to Hindu scriptures.

Engineers and experts used a specially designed optical system involving mirrors and lenses, calibrated to allow sunlight to reach the inner sanctum of the temple at a precise angle, illuminating the idol’s forehead for a brief but spiritually powerful moment.

This year’s Surya Tilak carries additional significance as it is the first Ram Navami celebrated in the newly consecrated grand temple, inaugurated earlier in January. Thousands of devotees from across the country gathered in Ayodhya to witness the divine spectacle, while millions more watched live broadcasts from home.
