BY A STAFF REORTER: According to official sources, due to the farmers' protest, 50 per cent less diesel and 20 per cent less gas have been sent to Punjab. On Tuesday afternoon, February 13, hundreds of protesting farmers joined the "Dilli Chalo" march that wreaked havoc on the Punjab-Haryana border. Protesters broke down concrete barricades with their tractors and handguns, and security forces fired tear gas canisters and pointed water cannons. Police barricades, iron nails, concrete slabs, barbed wire, police and paramilitary personnel have erected the entire border.
