Good News For Women: BJP MP Hema Malini On UCC Bill

BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a recent statement, BJP MP Hema Malini Praised Uttarakhand's Uniform Civil Code and termed it as a piece of good news for women of all genders on 6th February, Tuesday.

She further expressed happiness on the UCC bill. Malini also stated that this bill will benefit women belonging to all religions including Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, etc. She emphasized that women were deprived of these rights and Hema is happy that the government is in the works to implement UCC.

The controversial Uniform Civil Code's purpose is to establish a uniform legal framework for all citizens irrespective of their faith or religion. As of now, laws regarding marriage, succession, and divorce are based on various religions. the Uttarakhand ministers cleared the Uniform Civil Code draft report in a cabinet meeting held at the residence of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on 4th February in Dehradun.
