Hoax Bomb Threat at IGI Airport: Delhi Man Arrested

By A Staff Reporter — In a concerning incident during the night of October 25-26, 2024, two suspicious messages suggesting a potential bomb threat were received at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, sparking immediate alarm. The threats, however, were later confirmed to be hoaxes.

Delhi Police swiftly acted upon the threats and launched an investigation. DCP of IGI Airport, Usha Rangnani, announced that a case has been registered against the accused, identified as Shubham Upadhyay, a resident of Uttam Nagar, Delhi.

During interrogation, Upadhyay confessed to sending the messages, claiming that he was inspired by similar news reports he had seen on television. Authorities believe his intention was to draw attention to himself, leading to his reckless decision.

The police have assured the public that there is no threat to safety at the airport and that measures are in place to handle such incidents. The investigation is ongoing to determine any further implications and to ensure that individuals engaging in such irresponsible behavior are held accountable.
