BY A STAFF REPORTER: The Income Tax Department issued a demand notice worth Rs. 17,000 crores to the Indian National Congress on March 29, Friday.
Reportedly, The fresh demand notice is for assessment years 2017-18 to 2020-21, including penalties and interests.
Furthermore, the move comes days after top Congress leaders namely Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and Rahul Gandhi held a presser to inform that the party's bank accounts have been frozen, hindering them from spending money on campaigns and giving salaries to their workers.
