BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a major rescue operation, the Indian Coast Guard Ship Amogh rescued 27 Bangladeshi fishermen while patrolling at the International Maritime Border Line on April 4, Thursday.
The fishermen were found adrift in the national waters as their boat faced a machinery breakdown. Subsequently, the ICG Ship Amogh towed the Bangladeshi Fishing Boat along with the fishermen and transferred them to Bangladesh Coast Guard Ship Kamaruzzaman at the Indo-Bangladesh International Maritime Border Line.
The operation was carried out in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) existing between the Indian Coast Guard and the Bangladesh Coast Guard.
