Jammu: Union Minister Jitendra Singh, speaking at the National Startup Festival in Jammu, underscored Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for entrepreneurship and the remarkable growth of India’s startup ecosystem over the past decade.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has prioritised the Startup Movement in India by launching ‘Startup India, Stand up India’ from Red Fort in his Independence Day address,” Singh stated. He highlighted that India has grown from having just a handful of startups to approximately 1.75 lakh, making it the third-largest startup ecosystem globally.

The minister emphasized the significance of bringing the startup movement to regions that were previously less involved. “The National Startup Festival in Jammu aims to bring this movement to regions that were previously less involved, integrating Jammu and Kashmir into India's startup growth story,” he said.

Singh also highlighted the 'Purple Revolution' that began in Bhaderwah, a small town in the Doda district. This initiative, focused on lavender farming, has provided economic opportunities to local farmers and entrepreneurs, positioning Jammu and Kashmir as a key player in India's agribusiness sector.
