PIL has been filed in the Supreme Court over the new parliament building inaugration matter. The petition seeks a direction that the President of India should inaugurate the new Parliament building instead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

BY A STAFF REPORTER: A public interest litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Supreme Court over the new parliament building inaugration matter. The petition seeks a direction that the President of India should inaugurate the new Parliament building instead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. However, it is not known who filed the PIL.  Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new Parliament building on May 28 at 12 noon. Congress leaders and other opposition leaders feel that the President should inaugurate the new Parliament building instead of the Prime Minister. The Congress says the President should inaugurate the new Parliament building. The inauguration of the new parliament building by Draupadi Murmu will symbolize the government's commitment to democratic values and constitutional fairness. According to sources, President Draupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar are likely to send congratulatory messages on the occasion of the inauguration.
