Colombo — Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on a diplomatic visit marked by a warm and symbolic gesture. Braving the rain, six senior ministers from the Sri Lankan government were present at the airport to personally welcome the Indian leader, underscoring the significance of India-Sri Lanka ties.
The ministers who received PM Modi included Vijitha Herath, Nalinda Jayatissa, Anil Jayantha, Ramalingam Chandrasekar, Saroja Savithri Paulraj, and Chrishantha Abeysena. Their presence, despite the inclement weather, was seen as a strong message of solidarity and respect towards India and its leadership.
This visit is expected to focus on strengthening bilateral relations between the two neighboring nations, with key discussions likely to revolve around regional cooperation, trade, connectivity, and cultural exchange.
