President Murmu Approves 103 Gallantry Awards for Armed Forces
President Droupadi Murmu has approved 103 Gallantry awards for Armed Forces and Central Armed Police Forces personnel, recognizing their bravery and sacrifices in various operations
Delhi: On the eve of Independence Day 2024, President Droupadi Murmu approved 103 Gallantry awards for Armed Forces and Central Armed Police Forces personnel. The honors include four Kirti Chakras, three of which are posthumous; 18 Shaurya Chakras, including four posthumous; and one Bar to Sena Medal (Gallantry). Additionally, 63 Sena Medals (Gallantry), 11 Nao Sena Medals (Gallantry), and six Vayu Sena Medals (Gallantry) were awarded, with several of these also being posthumous.
Among the recognitions, 39 Mention-in-Despatches were also approved, including one posthumous award to Army Dog Kent for significant contributions to various military operations such as Operation Rakshak, Operation Snow Leopard, and Operation Hifazat. These awards honor the bravery and dedication of those who have served the nation in challenging conditions.
