Puri police warns tourists on online booking frauds

By A Staff Reporter: Beware of cyber frauds while booking hotels online. Puri police has warned tourists and visitors that most of sites in social media are rigged and fudged. Speaking to ANM News, superintendent of police, Puri Dr Kanwar Vishal Singh mentioned that most of websites in popular social media handle Google are fake. "Even the phone numbers are fake and if you call them, they will masquerade as actual hoteliers and resort owners and confirm your bookings. We advice tourists and visitors to either cross check with Puri police about the genuiness of the hotel and the website or book through verified online travel agencies," he said. Many tourists specially from West Bengal have been cheated, according to records available with the cops.
