The Supreme Court has directed the Delhi government to inform it on how it plans to compensate for the illegal felling of trees in the city's ridge forest area. This comes in response to reports of unauthorized tree cutting in the region.

The Supreme Court has also asked the Delhi government to ascertain how many such illegal permissions for cutting trees have been granted in the last five years and to place those permissions on record.
