SC issues notice

By the staff reporter: The Supreme Court has issued a notice to the Centre. The notice was issued challenging the constitutionality of the Chief Election Commissioner and Other Election Commissioners Act, 2023. It excluded the Chief Justice of India from the selection panel of Election Commissioners. The Supreme Court refused to stay the operation of the Election Commissioner Act, 2023. In April, the Supreme Court sought a response from the Center in this regard.
