Leaders Pay Tribute to Dr BR Ambedkar on Ambedkar Jayanti in Delhi

On Ambedkar Jayanti, leaders across party lines including Om Birla, JP Nadda, Rekha Gupta, Sonia and Rahul Gandhi paid homage to the architect of India’s Constitution.

New Delhi — On the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti, a host of national leaders from across the political spectrum gathered in the capital to pay homage to Dr Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Indian Constitution and a pioneer of social justice and reform in the country.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Union Minister and BJP President JP Nadda, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Dr Harivansh, and senior Congress leaders including party president and Rajya Sabha Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge, parliamentary party chairperson Sonia Gandhi, and Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi were among the prominent figures who offered floral tributes at his memorial.

Union Minister Piyush Goyal also joined the ceremony, which was marked by solemn remembrance and public statements acknowledging Dr Ambedkar’s enduring legacy. Leaders praised his vision of an inclusive India, rooted in equality, justice, and democracy.

The occasion drew a large crowd of supporters, scholars, and citizens, reflecting Ambedkar’s towering influence across generations and political boundaries. Commemorative events were also held at various locations across the country, with discussions on social justice, caste equity, and constitutional values.
