Delhi: As India’s Men’s Hockey Team faces Spain in the Bronze medal match at the Olympics in Paris, former Indian hockey player Ashok Kumar, son of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand, expressed his hopes for the team.

"I have always had hopes with the team," Kumar said, reflecting on his longstanding desire to see the team reach the podium, not just for bronze, but for gold. Recalling the narrow miss in the semifinal match, he praised the team's efforts, saying, "The goal that was missed in the last few seconds...we made a good effort." He also acknowledged Spain's strength, noting, "Spain is one of the best teams, it has won good tournaments."
