150 Scholars Will Participate In The Pran-Pratishtha Ceremony

The 'Prayashchit' (atonement) prayer is scheduled today for the purification of 'Yajman' (who will perform the ceremony) and for securing the rights to perform the prayer.

BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a recent statement, Vedic Priest Sunil Laxman Dixit on Tuesday revealed that nearly 150 scholars will participate in the Ram Temple consecration ceremony as the event begins today.

He further stated that the 'Prayashchit' (atonement) prayer is scheduled today for the purification of 'Yajman' (who will perform the ceremony) and for securing the rights to perform the prayer. Furthermore, Vishnu Pooja and 'Godaan' (donating a cow) would be performed. Subsequently, Lord Ram's Idol will be cleansed and moved towards the Temple on 18th January.

The Ram Temple consecration rituals began on January 16 Tuesday and will continue for seven days. Over 7,000 dignitaries will be attending the grand Pran-Pratishtha ceremony on 22nd January in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.
