Assam CM Himanta Biswa Declares Holiday on 22nd January.

In a recent development, Assam's Chief Minister Himanta Biswa on Sunday announced that all educational institutions will be closed on 22nd January to observe the Pran-Pratishtha ceremony.

BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a recent development, Assam's Chief Minister Himanta Biswa on Sunday announced that all educational institutions will be closed on 22nd January to observe the Pran-Pratishtha ceremony. 

Assam has joined the long list of BJP-ruled states and union territories declaring public holidays and half-days on 22nd January to mark the occasion of the Pran-Pratishtha ceremony. The list includes major states like Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and many more. Biswa also mentioned that meat shops, fish shops, and markets will be shut till 4:00 PM on Monday. Moreover, it will also be a dry day in the state. "This is a triumph for the Bharatiya civilization" he added.

This comes a day before the much-awaited Pran-Pratishtha ceremony. the Ram Temple consecration rituals began on January 16 Tuesday and will continue for seven days. The final ritual will be performed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 22nd January. Over 7,000 dignitaries will attend the grand Pran-Pratishtha ceremony on 22nd January in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.
