BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a recent development, Former Uttar Pradesh Congress committee president Nirmal Khatri on Wednesday accepted the invitation to the Ram Temple consecration ceremony.
He announced on his X (formerly Twitter) handle that he would be attending the Pran-Pratishtha ceremony. Moreover, he expressed his pride in being a Ram devotee, saying that being a devotee of Lord Ram is not a sin. Additionally, he mentioned that he will be participating in the event on 22nd January honouring the personal invitation of Champat Rai, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Trust's General secretary. However, Top Congress leaders including Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary declined the invitation as they consider it an 'RSS/BJP' event.
The consecration procedures of the Ram Temple began on Tuesday, January 16, and will last seven days. Over 7,000 dignitaries are expected to attend the grand Pran-Pratishtha event on January 22nd in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.
