BY A STAFF REPORTER: A press meet was held today in DRM KGP’s Conference room regarding the upcoming program of Hon'ble PM of foundation stone laying/dedication of the redevelopment works of 554 railway stations and 1500 road over bridges and under bridges on 26th of February.

Shri Narendra Modi, Prime Minister will lay foundation stone of 15 stations of Kharagpur Division on 26th February, 2024 under Amrit Station Scheme through Video Conferencing. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate / Lay Foundation stone for 15 Road Overbridges and Underpasses over KGP division.

Shri K.R. Chaudhary, Kharagpur DRM briefed the media persons regarding the upcoming mega event. In Kharagpur division total 15 stations (ADL, BZN, BLS, BLDA, BTQ, DGHA, HLZ, HIJ, JGM, KGP, MCA, MDN, PKU, TMZ & ULB), 10 LHS (86,87,95,37,40,44,47,48,59,64) and 3 ROBs/RUBs (123,13,18) of this division foundation stone laying/dedication program will be organized. Long awaited ROB-135, Km, 116/30-32 (town thana bridge) and subway, 129, KGP- TATA,227/13-15 (near Rakhamines station) will be dedicated for the common people’s use on the same day , i.e. 26.02.2024.

In connection with the above programme, competitions were organised by all four Divisions of SER among the students of different schools. Around 16,000 students took part in essay & poem writing, drawing and elocution competitions on the topic “2047 ke Viksit Bharat ka Viksit Rail”.

In Kharagpur Division 2795 school students from took part in the competitions at 30 locations. There were 242 winners of the competitions.
